April 15 @ 2:00 pm - 2:30 pm EDT

Conversations around sexual violence often center on harm within intimate relationships, but this lens doesn’t fully reflect the realities many survivors face. In communities of color especially, experiences of sexual violence can be shaped by cultural, linguistic, and systemic barriers that make support harder to access and navigate.

This session invites participants to expand their understanding of sexual violence beyond intimate partner contexts. Together, we’ll explore how broadening our frameworks can strengthen advocacy, improve survivor support, and better reflect the lived experiences of the communities we serve. Facilitated by staff from NAPIESV and MIWSAC, this space will offer both grounding context and opportunities for reflection on how we show up in our work.

Join us in expanding how sexual violence is defined, discussed, and addressed in our programs and communities.
