NAPIESV is honored to share I Hinanao-ta (Our Journey), a Pacific Islander Wellness Guide created to center Pacific Islander ways of understanding and practicing wellness.
Shaped by the voices of Pacific Islander community members and knowledge-keepers, the guide reflects how healing is carried through our relationships with the world around us and with one another. Through personal reflections, creative works, and shared teachings, contributors offer what they have learned from family, community, and lived experience.
We are deeply grateful to the contributors whose voices, knowledge, stories, and creative works shaped this guide: Anna Grace Malie Aiono; Ruta Lauleva Lua’iufi Aiono; Gillian Duenas; Samuel Ilesugam; Ipo Torio-Kauhane; Marcina Langrine; Tricia Atoigue Lizama, Ph.D., LCSW; Ulyana P.F. Madluk; Lourdes Manglona; Judy Matautia; Kalany Omengkar; Healani Sonoda-Pale; Lissette Yamase; Tina S. Takashy; Jennifer F. Tofaeono; Kelera K. Wainisautabu Coriakula Vuiyale; Nedine Songeni; and Doris Tulifau.
I Hinanao-ta is an invitation to reconnect with what has always been carried, while helping ensure this knowledge remains remembered and passed forward.
